Marcum Foundation Launches Meals on Marcum Campaign Raising Funds to End Childhood Hunger

Marcum Foundation Launches Meals on Marcum Campaign Raising Funds to End Childhood Hunger

With the number of children going hungry in the U.S. growing at an alarming rate, the Marcum Foundation is on a mission to raise $50,000 by the end of the year to support organizations fighting to end childhood hunger by launching its newest fundraising initiative: Meals On Marcum.

The Meals On Marcum campaign, running from November 22 to December 31, will be asking people to make a one-time donation of $20.21 to the foundation. The funds collected during this event will be given to causes that provide easy access to meals for children experiencing food insecurity.

According to the USDA, more than 12 million children in the United States were living in food insecure homes in 2019—meaning they were struggling to afford or get access to healthy meals, and not everyone in their household had enough to eat. Now, one year after the COVID-19 pandemic caused school closures and forced shutdowns of many public facilities, millions more children are struggling with hunger. And without help, recent studies show as many as 1 in 4 children—18 million in total—could be at risk of going hungry by the end of the year.

With a donation of just $20.21, the Marcum Foundation and its beneficiaries can help provide access to up to 200 healthy meals—making an even greater impact in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.
